T60/T61 Thinkpads are tough, well-built business machines. They originally cost $1700 or more. This T60/T61 has a sturdy, re-inforced body. It can withstand a fall to the floor which would destroy most other machines. What is IPS Flexview? IPS Flexview screens provide a pleasurable viewing experience with excellent color reproduction, contrast and wide viewing angles (so picture doesn’t get blurry when viewing from an angle, like the picture on a good quality TV). High-resolution 15″ 4:3 UXGA (1600 x 1200) resolution. This 15″ screen has just the right proportions (4:3 ratio), not widescreen so very pleasant for viewing. Many feel this 15″ 4:3 ratio T60 Flexview screen is the best laptop screen ever produced. What is a T601F (T601 “Frankenpad”) ? A T61 system board is installed into a T60 15” base/ chassis to get the power of a T61 while still enjoying the CLASSIC IPS Flexview screen of a T60 15” (4:3 ratio, NON-widescreen). The T61 board can run a more powerful CPU, can accept more RAM, and is capable of SATA-II (3 Gb/s) drive speeds with “Middleton BIOS” installed (the stock ThinkPad T61 BIOS limits the SATA interface to 1.5 Gb/s).
