Product Description: Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you. Original Listing... This offering is for a new (open box) AMD Ryzen 5 Model 2600 (6 cores / 12 threads) processor, which includes second generation (Zen+) micro-architecture. For those that are interested, the original Ryzen first generation (Zen) 1XXX series models launched in 2017, followed by second generation (Zen+) 2XXX series processors roughly a year later. These Ryzen 2600 second generation offerings are better than their first generation (Ryzen 1600) descendants. There is a modest clock speed improvement (3.2 MHz to 3.4 MHz) on the "base" and (3.6 MHz to 3.9 MHz) on the "boost". The other performance improvements over first generation Ryzen are not that significant, but they are still worth noting. More specifically, Zen+ micro-architecture offers slightly more efficient power consumption, a modest increase in IPC (Instructions Per Cycle/Clock), an update to Precision Boost 2 for more responsive clock speed increases, faster cache memory and a controller capable of supporting faster RAM. Some of the more notable features include the following... Cores / Threads: 6 / 12 Clock Speed: 3.4 GHz (Base) and 3.9 GHz (Boost) Die Size: 12 nm CPU Socket: AM4 Codename / Micro-Architecture: Pinnacle Ridge / Zen+ Cache (L1 / L2 / L3): 576 KB / 3 MB / 16 MB TDP: 65W Thermal Solution: Wraith Stealth Cooler (included) Other Notes: One of the benefits of these processors is their compatibility with older 300 and 400-series motherboards. If I could choose, I would opt for a B350 or B450 motherboard to pair with this processor. It would not have to be a high-end variant of one of these motherboards, as this is a relatively low powered processor. I just like the feature set of the B-series motherboards a lot better than the stripped down A-series motherboards. As for the top-end X-series motherboards compatible with this processor, that's really not necessary, especially at a higher cost relative to B-series alternatives. As is the case with many of my computer related purchases, I accumulated a number of these processors over the last few years for new computer builds. Although, the bicycle parts business has me overwhelmed at the moment, so I just don't have much time to build new computers. So I thought I would make a few of these processors available to someone else that may need one before I would get around to using them. Having said all the above, I do want to confirm this new processor was originally installed in a new computer build that was never delivered to a customer (due to the customer's change in plans). I eventually disassembled the new computer for parts to be used in other customer builds, but this processor was never used. It was put back in its original retail packaging and has sat on a shelf for at least a year (and maybe two). I can also confirm the factory matched Wraith Stealth Cooler is also included and this has never been used (as the factory thermal paste is still present). So this processor is effectively new, with only a handful of stress testing hours on it. Although, since the processor is no longer sealed in its retail packaging, I am classifying it as "open box" item and offering it at a modest discount. I can also confirm the pictures reflect the actual processor to be sold and this includes close-up images of the processor UPC code and serial number. I'll end up listing my various open box offerings one at a time, because I may still use some of these parts in computer builds at a later date. Although, if I have an item is listed, then I can confirm it's available for sale. You may visit our store by clicking on this "Store Home Page" link. Note to international customers regarding shipping... We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case. Note to international customers regarding customs... We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
